Does an OnlyFans Agency Own Your Account? Logins, 2FA and Who Gets Paid First

No agency owns your account, whatever the contract says. What an agency actually needs access to, what it never needs, how the money should flow, and the three settings to check before you sign anything.

Written by Jonathan F. Published

Short answer: no. An OnlyFans account belongs to the person whose government ID was used to verify it, and no management contract changes that. What a contract can do is make it practically hard to get your account back, which is a different problem and the one this post is about.

We run an agency, so read everything below knowing that. The upside of that bias is that we know exactly which access an agency needs to do the job, and which access is only ever requested for leverage.

What "ownership" means on OnlyFans

OnlyFans verifies every creator against a government ID and a selfie. The account is tied to that person. Their terms are written around the verified individual, not around whoever happens to hold the password, and when a dispute reaches support, that is the question they resolve: whose ID is on the account. A contract between you and an agency is a private agreement; it does not transfer the account, and OnlyFans is not a party to it.

The same goes for your content. What you upload stays yours. You grant the platform a licence to display it, and you might grant an agency a licence to use it for promotion while you work together. Neither of those is a transfer of ownership, and a clause that says otherwise is the clause to walk away from.

So why do creators lose accounts? Not because a contract said the agency owns it. They lose access because the agency controls the login email, the phone number on the account, or the two-factor method, and getting those back takes time, evidence and a support ticket. Ownership is rarely the fight. Access is.

What an agency needs access to

Running an account day to day means somebody other than you has to be inside it. Chatters answer messages, a manager schedules posts and sets prices, someone checks the stats. OnlyFans has no team-member role, so every agency works around that with shared sessions, browser extensions or the password itself. That part is unavoidable, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

What is avoidable is giving up the keys along with the door. Here is the split we use, and the one we would want if we were on the other side of the table:

  • Login session: yes, the agency needs to be logged in. Through a session tool or the password, but on the understanding that you can change the password at any time and the agency has to ask for the new one.
  • Login email: yours. Always. The email on the account is the recovery path for everything else, and whoever controls it controls the account in practice.
  • Phone number and two-factor: yours. If the agency needs to log in from a new device, you approve the code. It costs you ten seconds a week and it is the single strongest guarantee you have.
  • Payout settings: never touched. The bank account or e-wallet that OnlyFans pays into is yours, and the agency has no business changing it.
  • Your ID and personal documents: the agency does not need copies. Verification happens between you and the platform.

An agency that says it cannot work without controlling your email or your two-factor is telling you it prefers leverage to trust. Plenty of agencies, including us, run accounts without either.

Who gets paid first

This is the part creators ask about least and should ask about most. There are two ways the money can flow, and only one of them is safe.

The safe version: OnlyFans pays you. The full payout, after the platform's 20% cut, lands in your bank account on the platform's normal schedule. The agency then invoices you its commission on that amount, and you pay it. You see every dollar before anyone else does, you can check the invoice against your own dashboard, and if the relationship ends, nothing is sitting in someone else's account.

The other version: the agency's bank details go on the payout page, the agency receives everything, keeps its share and sends you the rest. It is sold as convenience. It is also the setup behind almost every "my agency stopped paying me" story we have heard. Once the money routes through them, your income depends on their cash flow, their honesty and their willingness to keep paying after you give notice.

Our own rule is written on our FAQ and in our contract: payouts go from the platform straight to the creator, never through us. We invoice our commission, which runs 25% to 55% of your earnings after platform fees depending on scope, and the creator pays it from money already sitting in their own account. That is not generosity. It is the only arrangement where the creator can verify the math.

Three settings to check before you sign, and again after

None of this needs a lawyer. It needs five minutes in your OnlyFans settings.

  • Open the account settings and confirm the email address is one you control and nobody else can read. If an agency "helped you set up" the account and the email is theirs, change it now, before you have anything to negotiate over.
  • Check the two-factor method. It should be your phone or your authenticator app. If a code goes to a number you do not recognise, the account is not really yours yet.
  • Open the payout page and confirm the bank details are yours. Do this again a month into any new management relationship, and any time an agency asks for "a quick change to the banking side".

If all three are yours, the worst an agency can do is stop working. That is a much smaller worst case than the one most creators are exposed to.

If an agency already controls your login

Do not announce that you are leaving before you have the account back. First, try the normal path: change the password, reset two-factor to your own device, change the email. If the recovery email is theirs, you will need OnlyFans support, and support will ask for the same ID that verified the account. That is why the ID-verified creator wins these disputes, and why it still takes days rather than minutes.

Document everything as you go: screenshots of the settings pages, the dates, any messages where the agency refuses to hand access back. We wrote a step-by-step exit guide at how to leave an OnlyFans agency, including what to do when an agency holds the account hostage. The short version is that patience and paperwork beat confrontation, because the platform is on the side of the verified person and you are that person.

What our contract says about all this

Since we are asking you to check other agencies' terms, here are ours. Your account and content remain yours. We never hold payout details. You can end management by giving us notice, and the arrangement ends within 48 hours of receiving your notice. Nothing in that paragraph is unusual for a well-run agency, and if an agency you are talking to will not put the equivalent in writing, ask them why in writing and read what comes back.

Questions creators ask

Can an OnlyFans agency legally own my account?

No. OnlyFans accounts are verified against a government ID and belong to the verified person. A management contract is a private agreement and does not transfer the account. What contracts sometimes do is make access hard to recover, which is why the login email, phone number and two-factor method should always stay with the creator.

Should my agency have my OnlyFans password?

An agency has to be logged in to do the work, and OnlyFans has no team-member role, so some form of shared access is normal. What should never be shared is the login email, the two-factor method or the payout settings. Keep those and you can revoke access at any time by changing the password.

Who should receive the OnlyFans payout, me or the agency?

You. The platform should pay the creator directly and the agency should invoice its commission afterwards. When the agency's bank details are on the payout page, your income depends on their cash flow and their willingness to keep paying, which is the setup behind most non-payment stories.

What if my agency refuses to give my login back?

Change the password, reset two-factor to your own device and change the email if you can. If the recovery email is theirs, contact OnlyFans support with the ID that verified the account. Support resolves ownership in favour of the verified creator; it takes days and documentation, not minutes.
