How the writing on this site is made

Almost no agency site says where its writing comes from. This one does, including the parts that are less flattering than they could be. If you are weighing what you read here, this page tells you how much weight it deserves.

Who is responsible

Editorial responsibility for everything published here sits with Jonathan F., who founded the agency in December 2021 and runs it. More about that on the about page.

A byline on a guide means he stands behind what it says — the positions, the numbers, the recommendations — and that he is the person to complain to when it is wrong. It does not mean he typed every sentence, and we would rather write that down than let you assume otherwise.

How a page gets written

Research comes first and drafting second, never the other way round. A page starts by collecting what is actually known: platform documentation, primary reporting, our own dashboards and the numbers from accounts we run. Only once that exists does anyone write prose.

Drafting and structuring are AI-assisted. We are saying so plainly because the alternative — letting you assume otherwise on a site whose whole argument is that we tell you things other agencies do not — would be the one inconsistency that undoes the rest. Nothing goes live straight out of a model: every page is read, cut and corrected by a person before it is published, and the responsibility for what it claims is human.

Every figure is opened at its primary source before it goes on a page. That rule exists because of a specific near-miss: a commission range was once about to be published with a source attached that did not contain it. It was caught before it went live, and the rule since then is simple — if we cannot open the source and read the number ourselves, the number does not appear.

What does not get published here

No invented creator quotes and no testimonials we did not receive. No earnings figure we cannot put a dashboard behind. No guaranteed results, for anyone, ever. And no claim about another agency that we have not read on that agency’s own site — if we say a competitor does not publish its commission, it means we looked.

Numbers and sources

Industry figures carry their source in the line that uses them; the collected set is on the statistics page. Our own figures come from creator dashboards, published as unedited screenshots on the results page, labelled net or gross and dated. The short version of every claim we make about ourselves is on the facts page, one line each.

Where we have a conflict of interest

We are an agency that writes about agencies, which means every comparison on this site is written by an interested party. We handle that by publishing the standard rather than hiding the interest: the vetting checklist is the one we would want a creator to use on us, we score ourselves against it in public, and we do not pass every row. Comparison pages name us and do not make us the automatic winner.

Nobody pays to be mentioned, rated or left out of anything published here.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, write to management@on-studios.com. A factual error gets corrected, and the page’s review date moves so you can tell something changed. We would rather be corrected by a reader than quoted wrongly by a model.
